02 Overview

A first look

By 07:00 the Giza Plateau feels unexpectedly quiet, the limestone still cool underfoot as morning light sketches Khufu, Khafre and the Sphinx. Our Egyptologists explain construction techniques and funerary practice on site, and we time visits to avoid the busiest hours.

You then move up the Nile to Upper Egypt, mornings planned for temples and afternoons for relaxed travel along the river. We do not run large coach tours; our small-group pacing gives time at each site. As a licensed Egyptian tour operator, we arrange your transfers, hotel bookings and guided visits, and your Egyptologist accompanies the itinerary throughout.

Asked & answered

Frequent questions

  1. 01 What is the group size for this 8-day Cairo and Nile cruise tour?
This tour operates privately for your booking party, meaning you will not join a larger group of travellers. You will have a dedicated Egyptologist and private vehicle for all transfers and sightseeing, ensuring a personalised experience throughout your holiday.
  2. 02 Are international flights included in the price of this tour?
International flights to and from Egypt are not included in the tour price. Travellers are responsible for arranging their own international airfare. Domestic flights within Egypt, such as from Cairo to Luxor, are included as per the detailed itinerary.
  3. 03 What type of accommodation is provided during the tour?
The tour includes overnight stays in carefully selected hotels in Cairo and a 3-night Nile cruise. All accommodation is based on a double room occupancy. Specific hotel and cruise details will be confirmed upon booking your holiday.
  4. 04 Which meals are included in the 8-day itinerary?
Breakfast is included daily throughout your stay in Cairo and on the Nile cruise. Lunch is provided during full-day tours and on the cruise. Dinner is also included during your 3-night Nile cruise segment, as specified in the itinerary.
  5. 05 What should I wear when visiting religious sites in Egypt?
When visiting religious sites like mosques and temples, modest dress is required, meaning shoulders and knees should be covered. Women should also carry a headscarf for entering mosques. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for all sightseeing on ancient sites.
  6. 06 Is this tour suitable for travellers with limited mobility?
This tour involves a significant amount of walking, often on uneven ancient stone surfaces at sites like the Pyramids and temples. There are also stairs at some locations. While private transfers minimise long walks, it is not ideal for those with significant mobility challenges.
  7. 07 What is the best time of year to book this Cairo and Nile cruise tour?
The best time to take this tour is during Egypt's cooler months, from October to April, which is ideal for winter sun holidays. Temperatures are more comfortable for sightseeing, particularly at outdoor sites. Summers, from May to September, can be very hot, especially in Upper Egypt.
  8. 08 Are gratuities for guides, drivers, and cruise staff included in the tour price?
Gratuities for your Egyptologist guides, drivers, and the crew on your Nile cruise are not included in the tour price. Tipping is customary in Egypt, and our Cairo-based team can provide guidance on appropriate amounts closer to your travel date.
  9. 09 Can I customise this itinerary or extend my stay?
Yes, as a licensed Egyptian tour operator, we can often customise itineraries. If you wish to extend your stay in Cairo or add other destinations, please discuss your preferences with us. Additional nights or activities may incur extra costs.
  10. 10 What is the policy for children travelling on this tour?
Children are welcome on this tour. Specific pricing and accommodation arrangements for children depend on their age and whether they share a room with adults. Please provide the ages of any children travelling for an accurate quotation from our team.
