What flies direct from Birmingham
Birmingham's Egypt directs are Red Sea charter routes – TUI to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, Jet2 to Hurghada. Both operate predominantly in the winter-sun window (October to April), with thin shoulder service in summer. Direct flight time is 5 hours 20 minutes.
There is no direct Birmingham to Cairo, Luxor, Aswan or Marsa Alam service. For Cairo, the most popular routing is via Istanbul on Turkish Airlines.

Avoid routing via Heathrow unless you have a specific reason – by the time you've factored in the BHX-LHR shuttle, security re-clearance and the inevitable schedule pad, total journey time is longer than a clean Istanbul connection.
