October to April is the sweet spot — warm, comfortable days in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, and proper winter sun about five hours from the UK. The Red Sea coast at Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh is warm year-round. Summer (June–August) is very hot inland, though rates fall.

What is included in a Nile cruise?

Most Nile cruises include full-board accommodation, guided shore excursions to Luxor Temple, Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae Temple, plus transfers. Flights and visas are usually arranged separately.

Do I need a visa to visit Egypt from the UK?

Accepted Answer

UK citizens need a tourist visa for Egypt. The simplest route is the official Egyptian e-visa online, currently about USD 30 per person, or a visa-on-arrival service at the major airports for around USD 35. Egypt Discovery advises on the current requirements before you travel; we aren't ATOL-bonded ourselves, so any flight-inclusive package is arranged via a UK ATOL-bonded partner.
