Picture the same morning at the Pyramids before the coach groups arrive, the same Egyptologist-led tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the same Nile sail past Edfu – just in a 4-star room rather than a Marriott Mena House suite. Everything that defines the experience stays private and included. The savings come from accommodation tier and travel-date selection, not from cutting content. How to choose
Three pillars decide where the savings come from on a budget Egypt holiday. None of them should compromise the experience itself.
The biggest lever. 4-star hotels (Steigenberger Pyramids, Sonesta St. George Luxor) and 4-star cruise vessels (M.S. Concerto, Moon Goddess) get you the same itinerary at roughly half the 5-star price. Mid-range hybrids – 4-star hotels with a 5-star cruise – sit in between. The Egyptologist, transfers, admissions and itinerary stay identical across tiers.
May, early June and early September are the value sweet spots – sites 30% emptier than October–April, prices 25–35% below peak. We don't run 7-day southern itineraries in late July or August by default (Aswan and Abu Simbel hit 43–48°C). November to February is peak; late January drops 20% versus December after the New Year reset.
Some of our budget itineraries use shared transfers on internal travel days (Cairo airport drop, for example) to bring the per-person price down further. Your guide stays private throughout – only the transfer vehicle is shared with another party on those specific legs. Most clients accept this trade-off once we explain it; tell us if you'd prefer fully private transfers and we'll quote both options upfront.

Amwaj Nile Cruise is a river vessel offering full-board sailings on the Nile between Luxor and Aswan. The vessel sails weekly in both directions and embarks and disembarks at Luxor and Aswan. On board you will find a sun deck, lounge bar and a dining room; cabins are graded Standard, Deluxe and Suite. The excursion programme alternates sailing days with visits to Karnak, Luxor Temple, Edfu (Temple of Horus), Kom Ombo, Philae and the Valley of the Kings. We select and arrange this cruise for our clients, and we do not bundle premium site extras such as pyramid interiors, which are optional and charged separately.

BudgetLuxor
A Sara sails the Nile between Aswan and Luxor, calling at Kom Ombo, Edfu, the Valley of the Kings and Luxor's East Bank. Choose the Aswan-to-Luxor, four-day option that departs every Wednesday, or the five-day Luxor-to-Aswan option that departs every Saturday with an optional Abu Simbel extension. Days combine temple visits with short daytime sailings, so you spend more time ashore at Edfu and Kom Ombo than on many tightly timed itineraries. Evenings are spent on deck with river views and relaxed dining. We arrange the Abu Simbel excursion by coach or scheduled flight if you add it when you book.

Hurghada
Beach Albatros Resort sits on the Red Sea coast in Hurghada and offers beach and pool facilities. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and do not run group bus tours; all transfers are private and our Hurghada team offers 24/7 on-ground support. Unlike cruise-based excursions, a land stay lets you snorkel independently on the house reef or join an optional private day trip to Giftun Island. Expect busy high season; buffet restaurants can queue at peak times and there is limited shade at midday on parts of the beach. We can add private snorkelling guides, scuba lessons and transfers to Hurghada Airport.
Hurghada

We arrange private transfers, arrival logistics and local support for excursions. Unlike Nile-side resorts, Basma, Citymax focuses on practical rooms and town access rather than extensive leisure facilities. Expect simpler facilities than larger hotels and limited on-site dining or spa services; it's a value choice rather than a resort. Aswan
Obelisk Nile Hotel in Aswan provides practical, mid-range accommodation for overnight stays and day-trip departures. We use it for short Aswan stops rather than replacing a multi-night Nile cruise or a larger riverside hotel. Unlike Nile cruise vessels, a hotel stay here allows later arrivals and simpler private transfers to Philae and Abu Simbel. Aswan

Hurghada

We don't bundle these hotels into fixed coach packages; we prefer private transfers to reduce arrival queues. Unlike short cruise shore excursions, a multi-night hotel stay gives repeat reef access and relaxed surface intervals for snorkellers. Expect higher occupancy and louder pool areas during Egyptian and European school holidays; some public beaches are shared with day-trip operators.
Practical questions

May–September is 30–40% cheaper than October–April. Avoid late July/early August in Upper Egypt (40°C+). May, June, and early September are the value sweet spots.
