02Overview
A first look
This is a private walking food tour in the centre of Alexandria. There is no car and no driver, just you, your party and a local guide. You meet at 17:00 at your hotel or at Saad Zaghloul Square, and then spend the evening eating the way Alexandrians do. The stops include a ful and falafel counter, a street stall for liver sandwiches, a seafood place by the harbour and an old café for pudding and coffee. The walk ends on the Corniche at about 21:00, and a taxi home can be arranged if you ask.

Asked & answered
Frequent questions
01Is there any transport on this tour?
No. It is a walking tour with no vehicle. You meet your guide in central Alexandria, and getting to and from the meeting point is up to you. A taxi back can be arranged on request.02Is it a private tour?
Yes. It is a private walk for your own party, with a guide who orders for you and explains each dish. Up to eight people can join in one party.03How much food is there?
There are five or more tasting stops, and together they add up to a full evening meal. Come hungry and pace yourself.04What if I have allergies or food I do not eat?
Tell us before the tour, and again when you meet your guide. We can change some stops, but street food kitchens are small, so we cannot promise freedom from traces of nuts, gluten or shellfish. If your allergy is severe, please ask us first.05Is the food safe to eat for visitors?
Your guide chooses busy places with a quick turnover, which is the best sign of fresh food. Bottled water is provided. If you have a sensitive stomach, tell your guide, and they will pick milder dishes.06How does cancelling work?
Give us more than 72 hours' notice and you can keep 100% as credit towards a future holiday or have 100% refunded, less bank charges. Between 72 and 24 hours beforehand, keep 100% as credit or have 50% back. Within 24 hours, or if you don't turn up, nothing can be refunded or credited. Should we have to cancel, you won't lose a penny.
