02Overview

A first look

Cairo is cooler and quieter in the evening, and the bazaars stay busy well after dark. This private tour takes you up the Cairo Tower for a view of the city lights, along the Nile corniche and across Qasr El Nil Bridge, then into the lanes of Khan el-Khalili. The evening ends over tea in one of the old cafes in the bazaar. Your guide, driver and vehicle are for your party only. Dinner is not included, so you may like to eat before you set out or afterwards in the bazaar.

Background

The facts

Cairo Tower stands on Gezira Island in the Nile. Khan el-Khalili is the old bazaar in Islamic Cairo, east of the river.

What to pack & wear

Children & families

Children are welcome and count towards your party size. The evening finishes at about 22:00 to 22:30 and involves walking in a busy bazaar, so it suits children who stay up late and cope with crowds. Please tell us their ages when you book.

Asked & answered

Frequent questions

  1. 01Where does this tour begin and end?
At your hotel in Cairo or Giza. Your driver collects you at 18:30 and brings you back to the same hotel at about 22:00 to 22:30.
  2. 02Does the evening include dinner?
No. Dinner is not included. You are welcome to eat before the tour or afterwards, and your guide can suggest places in the bazaar. Tea at the cafe is included.
  3. 03How do I book and how is the fare worked out?
You can book online and receive confirmation straight away. The fare is for the vehicle and guide, so the cost per person falls as your party grows. The booking page shows the fare for your group size.
  4. 04Will there be a wait at the Cairo Tower?
There can be a queue for the observation deck, especially on busy evenings. Your ticket is included, but the length of the wait depends on the crowds.

Yes, there is time to browse in Khan el-Khalili. Bring cash, as many stalls do not take cards. Anything you buy is paid for by you.

You are refunded in full when you cancel three or more days before the tour. Between three days and 24 hours, half is refunded. After that, or if you miss your pick-up, no refund is given.
