Best time to go
Spring and autumn offer warm water and calm seas. In winter the water is cooler and the wetsuit matters more, and summer can be hot on deck.

02Overview
A first look
This is an 8-hour introductory scuba day from Hurghada for people who have never dived. A minibus takes you to the dive centre, where you complete a short medical self-declaration and fit your equipment. On the boat you have a briefing on breathing, equalising and hand signals, then make two guided dives with an instructor, the first to about 6 metres and the second to no more than 12. Lunch is on board, and you can snorkel between dives. Divers must be 10 or over, and each instructor looks after no more than two guests.
Background
The facts
The dive boat leaves from Hurghada and sails to sheltered Red Sea reefs, with two shallow guided dives and lunch on board. The whole day lasts about eight hours, including hotel transfers.

Asked & answered
Frequent questions
01How does the price work for the introductory dive day?
Priced per person, the day covers the dive boat, two guided dives, equipment, lunch and marine park fees. Photos, towels and dive insurance are extra. Prices are provisional until our team confirms your request. We are an Egyptian operator (ETAA Licence 718), not an ATOL or ABTA member, and we do not sell international flights.02When and where do you collect me?
A minibus collects you at about 08:00 from hotels in Hurghada, El Gouna, Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh and Soma Bay and takes you to the dive centre. Bring your hotel name and room number for the paperwork. Our team confirms your exact pick-up time once your request is accepted.03Can children try this, and what do they pay?
Divers must be 10 or over. Children aged 10 and 11 pay half the adult price, and anyone aged 12 or over pays the adult price. Younger children cannot dive on this trip. Children should be happy in water, and the instructor decides if they are ready.04What do I need to bring, and do I need to swim?
Bring swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sun cream and a dry change of clothes. You should be comfortable in water, because you wear a mask and breathe through a regulator. The dive centre supplies the scuba equipment, and you complete a medical self-declaration beforehand.05What if I need to cancel, or the weather is bad?
Give us more than 72 hours' notice and you can keep 100% as credit towards a future holiday or have 100% refunded, less bank charges. Between 72 and 24 hours beforehand, keep 100% as credit or have 50% back. Within 24 hours, or if you don't turn up, nothing can be refunded or credited. Should we have to cancel, you won't lose a penny.06Is the boat shared, and how closely will I be supervised?
The boat is shared with other guests, up to 20 in all. Supervision is close, because each instructor looks after no more than two guests, and the instructor stays beside you throughout both dives. Guests who prefer to snorkel between dives can do so.

HurghadaOrange Bay Snorkeling & Beach Escape – Giftun Island, Hurghada
Snorkel at Orange Bay on Giftun Island, 30–40 minutes by speedboat from Hurghada Marina. We operate morning, small-group speedboat departures to avoid the busiest visitor hours. Guided snorkelling focuses on shallow fringing reefs; the schedule includes guided time in the water and relaxed beach time on the sand. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and run both shared and private departures. Unlike large resort launches, we keep boat groups small to reduce crowding at popular reef sites. Honest trade-offs: shade on the beach is limited, seas can be choppy and summer departures mean an earlier start to beat the heat.
