02Overview

A first look

This is a private horse ride in the desert next to the Giza Plateau, with the pyramids on the skyline. It is not inside the ticketed site. You are collected from your hotel in the afternoon, and a morning start is also possible. At the stables near the plateau, your guide matches a horse to your riding level. You then ride for about an hour and a half and have tea at the stables before the drive back. Beginners and experienced riders are both welcome, and we ask for your height, weight and riding experience when you book.

What to pack & wear

Children & families

Children who can sit comfortably on a horse and follow instructions are welcome, and they count towards your party size. Please tell us their age, height, weight and riding experience when you book so we can choose a suitable horse.

These fares are a guide, as prices and departure move through the year. Do ask us and we will confirm the fare for the days you have in mind.

Asked & answered

Frequent questions

  1. 01Where does this excursion begin and end?
At your hotel in Cairo or Giza. Your driver collects you at 15:00 and returns you to the same hotel at about 18:00 to 18:30. A morning start is also possible.
  2. 02Is the ride inside the Giza Plateau?
No. The ride is in the desert beside the plateau, so you do not need a plateau ticket and none is included. You see the pyramids from the outside, on the skyline.
  3. 03Can beginners ride?
Yes. Your guide matches a horse to your ability, and a stable guide rides with you. When you book, please give us your height, weight and riding experience so we can plan the right horse.
  4. 04How are the horses looked after?
We use stables we know, and ask you to tell us if anything looks wrong. A riding helmet is provided for each rider.
  5. 05How do I book and how is the fare worked out?
You can book online and receive confirmation straight away. The fare is for the vehicle, guide and horses, so the cost per person falls as your party grows. The booking page shows the fare for your group size.
  6. 06What if I need to cancel?
You are refunded in full when you cancel three or more days before the excursion. Between three days and 24 hours, half is refunded. After that, or if you miss your pick-up, no refund is given.
