Accessibility
Who can join this
This Nile cruise involves moderate physical demands. Embarkation and disembarkation require stepping up from the quay onto the vessel via gangway, which may be narrow and inclined; luggage handling assistance is available on request. Onshore visits include uneven antiquity surfaces, stone steps, and sandy approaches at sites such as the Valley of the Kings and Philae; many temple entries have several steps without handrails. The vessel has cabins accessed by internal stairs; some ships in our selection have elevators, but not all. Wheelchair users should notify us before booking so we can confirm a suitable cabin and evaluate each scheduled shore excursion for ramp access. We avoid promising full accessibility unless confirmed for the specific sailing, and we will provide a written accessibility summary for the assigned vessel after booking.

Children & families
Children aged 0 to 5.99 travel free when sharing a cabin with two paying adults, subject to one child per cabin maximum. Children aged 6 to 11.99 pay 50% of the adult fare when sharing; children aged 12 and older pay the full adult price. Two or more children require a separate cabin. Strollers are practical for embankments and paved promenades, but many archaeological sites have uneven stone and steps where a baby carrier is more useful. High chairs and infant cots depend on the assigned vessel and must be requested at booking.

How we travel here
The cruise uses large diesel river vessels, typically twin-engine Nile cruisers with shore power capability in some ports. We request locally based crew and suppliers, and we contract Egyptian catering and housekeeping teams to support local employment. Excursions use modern air-conditioned minibuses that meet Egyptian road-safety standards; where possible we favour suppliers that maintain Euro-equivalent engine servicing and tyre records. Waste management on board follows Egyptian maritime rules, with solid waste segregated for shore disposal and greywater treated per the vessel class; specific practices vary by ship and we provide details for the assigned vessel at booking. Tips and purchases made in museum shops and local craft cooperatives contribute directly to site guides and artisan incomes.

Blue Shadow Nile Cruise
The Blue Shadow Nile Cruise sails between Luxor and Aswan with guided visits to Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Philae, Edfu and Kom Ombo. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator; our Egyptologists lead all guided excursions and explain the archaeology at each site. Onboard life alternates deck-side Nile views with full-board dining, short talks and an evening folkloric show. We do not run large-group bus tours, our sailings are restricted to small groups of no more than eight guests. Compared with mass-market coach tours, the cruise allows more time at Edfu and Kom Ombo to explore on foot. Optional excursions, including an Abu Simbel day trip from Aswan, can be arranged on request.

Emilio Nile Cruise
Sail the Nile between Luxor and Aswan aboard the Emilio, visiting Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae. Days balance guided temple visits with relaxed afternoons on deck as the river passes cultivated islands and riverside villages. All guided visits are led by our Egyptologists, who explain the archaeology and chronology at each site. We limit excursions to small groups, maximum eight participants, so time ashore is unhurried and personal. Unlike short-stop cruise schedules, this itinerary allocates proper time at Edfu and Kom Ombo for meaningful visits. Evening life onboard is simple and classic, with dinner, local entertainment and clear river views. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and coordinate transfers, Egyptologists, sightseeing, and hotel and cruise bookings on the ground.
