This Nile dahabiya cruise requires stepping across a gangway to board, where access may be steep and the surface can move with the river. Decks may have uneven surfaces, narrow passageways and raised thresholds. At Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Philae and the Valley of the Kings, expect walking on uneven ancient stone, sand or cobbles, with steps and limited shade at some sites. Wheelchair access is not continuous, and independent access is likely to be difficult. The vessel moves at sail speed with longer shore stays than motor cruisers, so expect slower daily distances and more time ashore at places such as Gebel Silsila and El Kab.
2. 02Where do we board and how do transfers work?

   Embarkation is from the stone quay in Luxor; exact meeting details are provided with your booking. If your booking includes the cruise only, local transfers to the quay are not automatically included; when Discovery Tours Egypt arranges your full holiday we provide timed transfers between your hotel and the quay to match embarkation and disembarkation.

   Full board is included from lunch on embarkation day through breakfast on disembarkation day; chef‑prepared meals and daily guided walks are provided. Standard site entrance fees are included unless we state otherwise. Drinks, personal purchases, and crew gratuities are typically excluded unless your confirmation states they are included.

   The dahabiya requires stepping on and off at low quays and walking on uneven temple paths and riverbanks. Boarding and shore walks may involve a single gangplank, low ladders and cobbles; steep temple steps are common. Tell us your mobility needs before booking so we can advise which parts of the itinerary are feasible and propose alternatives where possible.
5. 05Can children travel on the Abundance Dahabiya?

   Children can travel but the programme and safety are not designed as an active family cruise for very young children. The small, sail‑driven vessel has limited childproofing and open deck areas. If you travel with children under 12, tell us at booking so we can discuss shore walk lengths, cabin allocation and safety measures.
6. 06What should I wear and bring for the dahabiya and shore visits?

   Bring sun protection, comfortable walking shoes, and modest clothing for temples and mosques. Mornings and evenings can be cool in winter. Pack a hat, sunscreen, lightweight long sleeves, a small daypack, sturdy sandals or trainers, and any prescription medication you need. A modest dress code is expected at religious sites.
