02Overview

A first look

Ain Sokhna is the closest part of the Red Sea to Cairo, and it makes an easy break from sightseeing. You travel with your own car and driver, with no guide, so the day is relaxed. The drive takes under two hours. You then have day use of a resort's beach and pool, lunch at the resort and some more time by the water before the drive back. The resort used depends on availability on your date, and we confirm it after you book.

Asked & answered

Frequent questions

  1. 01Where does this excursion begin and end?
At your hotel in Cairo or Giza. Your driver collects you at 08:00 and brings you back to the same hotel in the early evening.
  2. 02Which resort will we use?
Which resort you get depends on what is free on your date, and we confirm it once you have booked. Beyond the beach, pool, sunbeds, changing rooms and lunch, we cannot promise any facilities.
  3. 03Is there a guide?
No. This is a private car and driver only. The day is about time at the beach rather than sightseeing, so there is no guide on the trip.
  4. 04How do I book and how is the fare worked out?
You can book online and receive confirmation straight away. The fare is for the vehicle, so the cost per person falls as your party grows. The booking page shows the fare for your group size.
  5. 05What should I bring?
Bring swimwear, a towel, sun cream, a hat and sandals. Some resorts charge for towels. Carry some cash for drinks and tips.
  6. 06What if I need to cancel?
You are refunded in full when you cancel three or more days before the excursion. Between three days and 24 hours, half is refunded. After that, or if you miss your pick-up, no refund is given.
