02Overview
A first look
If you have a long wait at Cairo between flights, you can spend part of it at Giza. This private tour starts and ends at Cairo International Airport. A guide meets you in the arrivals hall once you have cleared passport control, and your vehicle takes you across the city to the Pyramids and the Sphinx. The plan is to have you back at the airport at least three hours before your onward flight. It suits a stop of about eight hours or more, and the timings below are planned around your flight rather than fixed.
Background
The facts
Cairo International Airport lies north-east of the city. The Giza Plateau is on the opposite side of Cairo, about an hour away by road depending on traffic.

What to pack & wear
Children & families
Children are welcome and count towards your party size. The day is short on rest, with a drive each way and some walking in the sun, so it suits children who cope well with a long travel day. Please tell us their ages when you book.
These fares are a guide, as prices and departure move through the year. Do ask us and we will confirm the fare for the days you have in mind.

Frequent questions
01Where does this tour begin and end?
At Cairo International Airport. Your guide meets you in the arrivals hall after passport control, and the tour finishes back at the airport.02How much time do I need between flights?
We suggest a stop of about eight hours or more. Your guide aims to return you to the airport no later than three hours ahead of the onward flight. We cannot guarantee you will make your flight, but the day is timed around it.03Do I need a visa?
Yes. You have to clear immigration to leave the airport, so you must be eligible for an Egyptian entry visa. The visa is not included in the fare, and you should check the requirements for your passport before you book.04What happens to my luggage?
Hold luggage normally stays with your airline or onward carrier. Cabin bags can stay in the vehicle during the tour. Any fee for storing luggage at the airport is paid by you.05What happens when the inbound flight is delayed?
If your inbound flight is late, we shorten the tour to keep your return on time. If too little time remains, the tour does not run. We aim to tell you as early as we can.06How do I book and what if I need to cancel?
You can book online and receive confirmation straight away. The fare is for the vehicle and guide, so the cost per person falls as your party grows. You are refunded in full when you cancel three or more days before, and half between three days and 24 hours. After that, or for a no-show, there is no refund.
