02Overview
A first look
This is a seven-hour introduction to scuba diving from Sharm El Sheikh, for people with no licence or experience. A vehicle takes you from your hotel to the dive centre, where you complete paperwork and a medical self-declaration and are fitted with equipment. On the boat, an instructor explains breathing, equalising and hand signals. You then make two guided dives, the first to about 6 metres and the second to no more than 12, with lunch between them. The boat is shared with up to 20 guests, and divers must be aged 10 or over.
Background
The facts
Dives take place on sheltered reefs off Sharm El Sheikh on the Sinai side of the Red Sea. A short boat crossing from the jetty gets you to the first site, and the day lasts around 7 hours.

Asked & answered
Frequent questions
01What does the price of the intro dive day include?
The price is per person and covers both dives, all scuba equipment, the instructor, lunch on board, marine park fees and hotel transfers. Dive insurance, towels and underwater photos are extra. Prices are provisional until our team confirms your booking, and we confirm availability first.02What time is hotel collection in Sharm El Sheikh?
Collection is at about 08:00 from hotels in Naama Bay, Sharks Bay, Nabq, Hadaba and the Old Market area. Your exact time is confirmed after booking. The boat is back at the jetty at about 15:00, and the transfer to your hotel follows.03Can my child try scuba diving?
Divers must be at least 10 years old. Under 2s travel free, ages 2 to 11 pay half the adult price, and ages 12 and over pay the adult price. Younger family members can usually stay ashore, but check the plan with us before booking, since the boat day is long.04Do I need to be a strong swimmer or bring any kit?
You need no licence and no experience, and the full dive kit is provided. Bring swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sun cream and a dry change of clothes. Keep your passport or a copy for the jetty. The instructor explains everything before the first dive.05How do refunds work if I cannot go?
Cancel three or more days before the trip for a full refund. Between three days and 24 hours before, half is refunded. Inside 24 hours, or if you do not turn up, nothing is refunded. Sea trips stopped by the port authority because of weather are moved to another day or refunded.06Is the dive boat shared with other guests?
Yes, the boat is shared with other guests, up to 20 in total, and each instructor looks after no more than two people. We are an Egyptian operator (ETAA Licence 718), not an ATOL or ABTA member, and we do not sell international flights. Booking is by request.
