02Overview

A first look

This is a three-hour desert outing from Sharm El Sheikh, shorter than a full safari and easy to fit around a beach day. A vehicle collects you from your hotel in the morning, afternoon or at sunset, and drives to the safari base. After a briefing and practice lap, you ride a quad bike for about an hour in convoy to Echo Valley, where you stop to hear your voice bounce off the rock walls. A short camel ride and Bedouin tea follow. The group is shared, with up to 30 guests, and riders must be aged 6 or over.

Background

The facts

Frequent questions

  1. 01How does the price for the Echo Valley outing work?
The price is per person and includes the ride, helmet, camel ride, tea, water and hotel transfers. Two people can share one quad bike if you ask when you send your request. A dust scarf is the only usual extra. Prices are provisional until our team confirms your booking.
  2. 02Which departure time should I choose?
You can choose a morning, afternoon or sunset departure when you send your request. Morning and sunset are cooler, so they suit the hotter months well. Our team confirms your exact pick-up time after accepting the booking. We collect from Naama Bay, Sharks Bay, Nabq, Hadaba and the Old Market area.
  3. 03How old must children be to ride?
Riders must be at least 6 years old. Under 2s travel free, ages 2 to 11 pay half the adult price, and ages 12 and over pay the adult price. Helmets are provided for everyone, and the guide sets the pace for the whole convoy.
  4. 04What should I bring for the ride?
Wear closed shoes and long trousers, and bring sunglasses and a scarf for the dust. Sun cream and a hat help in the daytime. A light jumper is worth having at sunset. If you forget a scarf or goggles, both are on sale at the base.
  5. 05What are the rules if I need to cancel?
Cancel three or more days before for a full refund. Between three days and 24 hours before, half is refunded. Inside 24 hours, or if you do not turn up, nothing is refunded. Tell us as soon as your plans change, and we will do what we can to help.
  6. 06Is the outing shared, and who runs it?
Yes, it is shared with up to 30 guests and run by our Sharm El Sheikh team. We are an Egyptian operator (ETAA Licence 718), not an ATOL or ABTA member, and we do not sell international flights. Booking is by request, and we confirm availability before payment.
